Public Participation and Comments Notice on North Carolina's Application for Receiving Grant Award under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as Amended in 2004

FFY 2008

The Public Schools of North Carolina (Department of Public Instruction) offers an opportunity for individual review of the Annual Application under Part B of the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The proposed Department of Instruction (DPI) application will be available for review beginning March 13, 2008 through May 11, 2008. Comments are invited beginning March 24, 2008 through April 25, 2008.

A copy of the application may be reviewed on the DPI website at http://www.ncpublicschools.org/ec/ under the heading of HIGHLGHTS. A copy of the application will also be sent to each Local Education Agency for public review.

Interested citizens are invited to comment on the proposed application. Comments may be submitted no later than April 25, 2008 on the DPI website or to the Public Schools of North Carolina, Exceptional Children Division, 6356 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-6356, ATTN: Valerie Herndon or Ira Wolfe.
